Aside from being a paper boy, I've always had technology focused jobs. I had the great fortune of working for Craig Holland growing up, and he showed me the world of Linux & open source before it was trending. And I learned to appreciate the community & contribute back - not because it was largely free - but because in many cases it was the best solution. I got started with Perl & PHP on RedHat, learned not every solution is a good idea (coughCorel Linuxcough), and have always worked at places that truly appreciated the blend of open & closed source solutions to run a company.
